Get Mentally Prepared

Mastering the mental aspect of golf is just as crucial as honing your swing technique or refining your short game skills. In fact, a strong mental game can often be the difference between success and frustration on the course. Here are three mental tips to help you elevate your performance and score better in golf:

Stay Present and Focused: One of the biggest challenges in golf is maintaining focus and staying present throughout the round. It's easy to get caught up in past mistakes or future outcomes, which can detract from your performance in the moment. To combat this, develop these 2 skills:

Pre-shot Routine: Develop a consistent pre-shot routine that helps you narrow your focus and block out distractions. Whether it's taking a few deep breaths, visualizing your shot, or rehearsing your swing, establish a routine that puts you in the right frame of mind before each shot. If something doesn't feel right back away and start again.

Shot-by-Shot Mentality: Instead of dwelling on previous shots or worrying about future holes, focus solely on the shot at hand. Break the round down into individual shots and commit fully to each one, regardless of what has happened before or what lies ahead. By staying present and focused on the task at hand, you can perform at your best under pressure.
